Porcelain flower halos

This weekend I’ve had my first wedding of the year and it was a wonderful one..the wedding season is truly upon us and I’ve been excitedly making beautiful bridal accessories for lovely bride to be’s.

I thought I’d show you a few photos of the bridal hair accessories I’ve been working on, in collages of close ups and model shots.

Firstly my summer flower halo – this halo is made up of handmade porcelain roses, peonies and tiny gypsophila. In a mix of ivory, blush and lemon, they are all held together with sterling silver wire:

My lemon and ivory flower halo features little handmade roses in ivory and lemon with tiny porcelain gypsophila all collected together with gold plated wire. I wore my lemon rose halo on gold for my wedding day so I’m pretty fond of this one!

My porcelain flower halos all began with this rose halo I began making last year. This is now stocked at my lovely bridal boutique stockists. It is coming soon to The Bridal Boutique Warwickshire and Perfect Day Bridal very soon which is very exciting. I love this halo and I’ve loved making it to suit brides colour schemes. This week I’ll be working on one to match a brides colour scheme of pinks, blues and burgundy and I can’t wait to see the finished result. This one pictured is made up of porcelain roses in ivory, blush and lemon on a sterling silver halo.

I’ve always wanted to experiment with fabrics and to mix this with porcelain. In January I began designing some chiffon flower halos and the outcome was this blue forget-me-not style halo and this pink hydrangea halo. I love working with chiffon and its delicateness really suits the dainty porcelain. I’m also working on a lemon and mint green version of the hydrangea halo this week for a lovely bride to be and the colours are looking beautiful together.

And for something very sweet – my daisy chain halo. I made this last year and also made a version with gold petals instead of lemon for my friend to wear as bridesmaid for my wedding last September.

I first began making accessories for brides after being asked to make some hairpins for a friends mums wedding. Soon after the lovely The White Closet began stocking them. 2 and a half years later and I’ve a few more added to my collection. Heres a selection of my porcelain and chiffon hairpins..porcelain roses, pink hydrangeas and forget-me-nots:
